Dr James Ross is a general surgeon at the Specialist Centre Ballarat.
Dr James Ross is a general surgeon with an interest in colorectal surgery. He graduated from Melbourne university medical school with honours, and went on the complete his surgical training in the south west of Victoria and Darwin.
James is the first surgeon in Australia to be trained exclusively in a regional setting, and it was these training experiences that inspired him to practise in regional Victoria.
After completing his fellowship training in General surgery, James complete a year of further training in colorectal and hernia surgery in Geelong. He then completed a further year of colorectal and General surgical training in Ballarat before taking up a position as a consultant General surgeon.
James is currently appointed at the Ballarat Base Hospital in emergency general surgery and as part of the colorectal unit, he practices at St John of God Ballarat and the Stawell regional hospital. James has a teaching appointment at Deakin university in Ballarat.
James provides general surgical services with an interest in colorectal disease, hernia surgery and endoscopy. He consults in Ballarat and Stawell, and operates in these locations.
